Karen and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary in style. We did and nice bike ride in our matching high visibility shirts, I did some steaks on the grill, and we went for a ride in our old grey Pontiac to get some ice cream.
Our spring has been pretty busy. We spent quite a bit of time work on flower beds and trying to get some herbs and vegetables going. In the past Karen did most of the flower selection, but this year I got involved a bit more.
A lot of effort was put into building a raised planter box between our house and mom's. We found some hosta that we liked, but it was a real challenge to find just the right central plant for an accent in the middle. I decided that a Serviceberry would look nice. Little did I know how hard it would be to find one at the correct size and at a reasonable cost. Once completed how ever we have a very nice little enclosed courtyard space just outsid ethe side door what we have enjoyed for the past several weeks.
