Thanksgiving morning Blake Skyler and I went Duck hunting. It was a beautiful morning, but no ducks.

We had Thanksgiving at mom's. Sister Carolyn, brother Ron, Blake's family, Dick and Jan Berry Karen and I all were there for lunch. We had Turkey and all the fixings. most of the middle of the day included lots of wild story telling. I went deer hunting in the late afternoon, but no deer.
Friday morning Blake Skyler and I went duck hunting again. This time we went to a different lake south of Warsaw. We set up our decoy spread breaking a thin coat of ice and waited for first light. Soon we began to see ducks. We saw hundreds of ducks and ended up with six, three mallards, two buffle heads and one merganser.

Karen and Apryl went shopping. Trae seems to be the only sane one in the bunch, he went home with Grandma Bennett and slept in late. We all met back at Mom's for lunch.
Saturday morning Blake and I went duck hunting again on Barbee lake. Skyler and Trae spent the night at the Bishop's. So this time we took Blake's Labrador Toby.

Toby is a 4 year old 80 pound puppy that as been just waiting for this chance to go hunting. So six bags of decoys, seats, guns, 2 backpacks filled with extra equipment and clothes a really excited Labrador, Blake and I loaded into the boat and we headed across the lake. Toby thought this was great fun and needed to get a drink of ice cold lake water over the side from every possible position of the boat, never mind that we were trying to stay somewhat dry. We eventually got set up had some ducks come in early but not too much after that. We did get one goose mid morning.
Brother Dave and Judy got to mom's late Friday night. Nephew Brandon and family came on late Saturday morning. Blake Apryl and the boys also came over for lunch and stayed for most of the day.
Sunday it snowed in the morning. After church Blake and I put away our duck hunting stuff until next weekend. Blake and Skyler went Deer hunting south of Warsaw in the late afternoon, I went to a different site on State ground east of our place a few miles. None of us saw any deer.
