Spring is coming so while there is still a little snow on the ground from a big early March snow storm I am putting together this final Blog of the events of the 2012 year. I also completed an abbreviated Fall post and the final post of our September vacation to Italy Greece and Croatia.
In mid December we made a trek to Chicago to do a little shopping and to go to the Christmas market.
The Christmas ornaments were bright as ever, but the day was cold and the warm hats and scarves were useful.
We made another quick trip to Pisgah and got a nice shot of these beaver dams.
A week or so before Christmas there was a family gathering at my mother's house. Although the house was full I was able to get some random shots of cousins, sisters, brothers and grandkids.
We made it over to Blake and Apryl's just before Christmas.
We decorated our tree on Christmas Eve as usual and because of an incoming winter storm we compressed all of your family gathering into the day and evening of Christmas.
Clarice's big goal for the year was to see if she could fit into her old wedding dress, which she accomplished.
We got a couple of cheesy photos or ourselves.
We have a nice collection of Christmas ornaments that we have gathered over many years and from all over the world. It is fun to see them every year.
Christmas evening all of our family came to our place to celebrate our family Christmas. This is a wonderful time to irritate everyone with a bunch of photo taking, but since I am the oldest I get away with it for a while. In spite of the complaining and groaning I am always glad I have taken pictures of the these times in our lives.
Ezekiel, the newest member of the family, is not so sure about all of this. As long as he has his mommy it's okay.
Ezekiel seems to be asking is this normal behavior?
We opened gifts to each other.
Everyone seemed to have a good time. It was a real blessing to have our family together.
The Hawk Children presented a Christmas pageant, which was the highlight of the evening. They did an amazing job
The day after Christmas there was a bit of snow.
We celebrated Trae's birthday
Grandma Bennett's Christmas stockings were handed out a couple of days late, because of the quick change of plans on Christmas day.
The traditional Lego character distribution apparently went well.
All in all the 2012 year was full of lots of good memories and blessings.
