I hunted most of the season out of the ground blind below, but the heavy snow had taken out the roof supports and so I hunted this particular morning out in the open up against a blown down tree.
When it was time to head home I took a series of shots as I approached the area where Blake was hunting. He was in the area just to the right of center in the photo below.
I had to get pretty close before I could make out where he was. He was already part way out of the tree.
Blake has a tree stand that he can use on about any tree and climb up with the stand so I was not completely sure where he would be until I got pretty close. I guess the camouflage works like it's supposed to.

On December 14th Blake's family, Karen and I did an outing in Chicago. We drove up to Chesterton and caught the South Shore commuter train into the city.

Our plan was to go to the Christmas market in Dailey Plaza and do a little shopping and site seeing down town Chicago.
The Christmas market is a series of booths and shops mainly from Germany with ornaments and other Christmas decorations and food.

Trae's goal was to buy this hat
After going into and by perhaps a hundred shops we decided to walk down Michigan Ave.

December 2011
December is an interesting month. We had a bit of a snow storm in the middle of the month and mild conditions at the end of the month. The pictures below are of the last morning that Blake and I deer hunted together this year. The snow storm had blanketed the ground, it was cold and clear that morning and sunrise provided some interesting highlights in an otherwise bleak landscape.
