End of Summer 2009

The week before last I had a meeting at Church on Monday, Softball on Tuesday, Praise group practice on Wednesday night. Karen and I are still trying to ride bikes or walk every day to get in shape for our fall trip, so some of those walks were pretty late and dark. Blake and Apryl went to a deer conference at the end of the week so we had Skyler and Trae for the weekend. The Lakes were in flood stage from the heavy rains several days earlier, so there was no skiing or boating. We did do our big breakfast event though and expanded it to include the families of the ski group

We did get in some good long bike rides, one to a nature preserve with a nice board walk and overlook.

Last week was just as packed. Classes began on the IPFW campus last Monday (the 24th) so things were just crazy. Enrollment is up in The 13K range. I was in some form of a scheduled meeting occupying 30 hours of the week. Most meetings resulted in some assignment or task that needed to be addressed the rest of the time. Needless to say by Friday night I was well done.

Saturday morning I went into Warsaw to help some folks from Church move one of recently widowed "little old ladies" move into smaller quarters.

In the late afternoon Karen and I took the two great grandmas with us over to Andrew and Adelphia's for Elizabeth's 3rd birthday party.

Elizabeth sporting her new princess bike.

Great Grandma Bennett, Elisea and Grandma Harris. Now there is a gang to to watch.
Great Grandma Harris on the pitcher's mound. Luckily Ethan pulled it to left field and did not break a window.

Elizabeth is into princesses and was presented with piles princess presents.

She seemed to be pleasantly please with her pile of princess presents.

Her final 3rd birthday present was a new set of wheels fit for a princess

It's a sweet ride for a couple of sweet little girls.

All too soon they will be heading out the drive in a full sized car, but for now it is fun to watch the Grandchildren grow up healthly and happy.

Our Church Softball team won the tournament last night (Septaember 1st). This is the third year in a row we have won. Just so we don't get big heads or anything we got trophies listing us as winners of the "Lower 'C' Division". This isn't the majors, but we had a great time of fellowship and fun and got a little exercise and not too many injuries.
