Australia the Very Beginning Oct 3-4

We spent all of Oct 2 and most of Oct 3 traveling from Paris France through Frankfort Germany and Singapore to get to Australia. We left our hotel in Paris about 5:30 AM and headed for the airport . We spent about 32 hours in airports and planes, we saw two sun rises and two sun sets and never went outside. Near the end of the trip we did fly over the greast outback of Australia and although we were not able to get to the Outback at grade we did get a pretty good impression of what it looks like from the air.

We got to Sydney about 6:30 PM (local tome) on Oct 3 and headed to Clarice and Jon's appartment.

On Saturday Oct 4 it was cool and rainy but we took the harbor ferry to down town Sydney anyway.

We toured the Sydney Opera House and the surrounding grounds and shopping areas and walked around an open market in an area called the Rocks and went up on the bay bridge.

We had dinner at an Italian restaurant outdoors, the sun peaked out for a few minutes so we got a look at what Sydney might look like in sunlight and generally got a pretty good impression of Sydney at least as an introdution.

It was well after dark when we headed back on the ferry.
