Super Bowl Sunday Australia Style Oct 5

October 5
On our second day in Australia we went to Church with Clarice and Jon and got to meet several of their new friends there. Clarice plays flute in the praise band with a piano, string bass, drums and two singers. Their Church is similar to our church except they talk a little funny, and after Church they have tea which is really coffee and cookies. I talked to one of the Deacons about their building project to expand their educational/fellowship hall. Karen went out to watch the little kids play. Like I said their Church is a lot like our Church.

In the afternoon we went to the National Rugby Grand Finals, which is roughly equivalent to the Super Bowl in the U.S. The match was in the Olympic Stadium. We met up with Paul and Amber who we had met originally when Paul was living in Warsaw working on the same project that Clarice is doing in Australia.
It was quite an festive event and about as close to a Super Bowl as I will ever get.
